WEEK TWO

Getting Things on the Straight and Level

This is a great method of levelling the horizon in a photograph and it is so simple to do that you ask yourself "why didn't I think of that"?

This photo was taken at Umdhloti Beach on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast.

Red-Eye Correction

I had trouble finding a suitable photograph for this part of the lesson. My Canon EOS5 as well as my new digital camera a Canon S40 PowerShot both have a built-in red-eye reduction feature.

Eventually I managed to find a photo that a friend of ours, who is now living in the States sent us and, after receiving his permission to post his picture on my website, here it is.

Oh, by the way, Frank did stipulate that I must give him more hair, so I did, but only on the photo that had the red-eye correction done to it. I hope that he will still speak to me when he sees what I did to him <grin>.
